Russian disinformation reaches millions via a new route.

Warning: Russian disinformation reaches millions of Dutch-language readers via a new route.

The Justice for Prosperity foundation discovered that Russian disinformation, launched during the German state elections, flowed into the Dutch-language area one day later via Dutch and Belgian channels and spread actively from there. This happened in the run-up to the Dutch municipal elections. Within a short time, it generated millions of views.

This case shows how disinformation also spreads from one country to the next through existing networks, in ways that are less well known.
