About us

Who we are?

We are a non-profit research institute based in Amsterdam. We specialise in protecting democracy and the rights of vulnerable groups through conducting multilayered and multidisciplinary research and investigations – from Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) to field investigations.

What is our mission?

At JfP, we investigate and understand subversive threats, uncover the hidden networks and actors seeking to undermine democracy, anticipate and predict evolving risks and challenges faced by current democratic structures and, safeguard civil society through direct support, advocacy and public engagement.

Ultimately, our mission is to inform, protect, and raise public awareness of the threats undermining democratic societies and endangering the rights of vulnerable communities.

How do we achieve our mission?

We do this by using innovative information technologies and field operations to conduct extensive multi-source research as the basis of evidence-based intel briefs and publications. The goal of these activities is to protect those under siege and turn the findings into easily accessible information. And encourage public debate at a general society level to ultimately raise awareness of the subversive activities that threaten our democracies.

What do we do?

At JfP, we take the steps necessary to understand and combat democratic and human rights subversion.

  • Unmask Subversive Forces: Investigate how subversive actors operate invisibly, often evading detection.
  • Evidence Collection: Use cutting-edge technology and fieldwork to gather crucial information.
  • Public Engagement: Publish findings to inform and stimulate public debate and awareness.
  • Strategic Defence: Only by understanding the tactics used to erode democratic values can we develop effective tools to protect them.

What are our strengths?

JfP stands out due to our unique approach and methodology which combines field research, investigations, technology, and partnerships that allow us to make a tangible impact against democratic subversion, polarisation and extremism which leave our society more fragmented and vulnerable.

What do we mean by democracy?

At JfP, we understand democracy as a system based on tolerance, pluralism, and the protection of human rights, including the rights of women and marginalized communities. Our research often focuses on conservative, far-right, and fascist actors because their actions and rhetoric frequently intersect with challenges to these democratic principles. This focus helps us examine how certain political movements may impact our democratic societies. We aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of the actors and dynamics that influence democratic stability and social cohesion.
