“Where does the money go?”

Fresh off the press: research by the Justice for Prosperity foundation shows that Forum voor Democratie (FvD) spent by far the most on political advertising of all parties between 27 August and 25 September. On Meta and Google alone, FvD outspends runner-up D66 by over 100%, with SP and CDA close behind in third and fourth place.

What stands out is not only the size of the spending, but also the themes and keywords FvD uses to attract attention. Alongside familiar topics such as nitrogen policy, public safety and climate, the party also targets terms like “transgender propaganda” and “left-wing indoctrination.”

This shows how political ads do more than push and pull issues, they frame organisations and population groups.

A reminder to all parties: from 10 October 2025, your ads are prohibited. We are curious to see where this money flows next. We will be watching closely until election day.
