In Europe, the conservative-Christian movement – funded by millions by American groups as well as Russia – is fighting abortion legislation, the LGBT+ community and migrants.
This week, the Rutgers organization initiated summary proceedings against the arch-conservative Civitas Christiana for spreading disinformation about the “Week of Spring Tickles,” in which elementary school pay extra attention to relational and sexual education.
These are not isolated campaigns: conservative-Christian movements are even bent on eroding or completely dismantling the rule of law from within.
What financial flows are behind this? That is the question Justice for Prosperity is concerned with. They analyze public sources, do field research, infiltrate organizations when necessary.
In other words, it is a security service ‘for good’ that investigates the worldwide undermining of democracy and the rule of law by conservative networks, oligarchs and populist politicians – who often work closely together. But extremists and influencers like Andrew Tate are also monitored by Justice for Prosperity.
In this episode of FTM Interviews, Harm Ede Botje speaks with Jelle Postma: founder and director of Justice for Prosperity, about conservative organizations in America and Europe.
Postma worked for years for the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD), and later at the National Coordinator for Terrorism and Security (NCTV). He is now going public because he believes the tide needs to be turned. ‘Look at Trump, look at Orbán. We need to give our politicians a push to stand up to this.’
The parallels with the 1930s are many, according to Postma. ‘Then, too, fear was instilled against a small group, then against Jews, now against minorities and the LGBT community. Fear is a great tool to increase your electorate. We have to be very alert to that.’
