AI manipulation

Here is yet another striking example of how manipulation works and how fear is deliberately stoked.

Full credit to De Groene Amsterdammer: Eva Hofman and Joris Veerbeek for their sharp investigation. The Justice for Prosperity foundation is grateful to have contributed to their findings.

The research shows with precision how fear functions as a business model: AI-generated images that look real are deliberately designed to trigger emotion. More fear leads to more clicks and wider reach, which in turn drives polarisation, votes, money and power. The goal is not to inform. It is to generate fear.

At JfP, we continue to investigate social manipulation and help media, policymakers and citizens alike to see through the noise and the fear. Resilience starts with recognising how you are being played.
