Data Engineer/Project Manager​

Justice for Prosperity is looking for a data engineer/developer who wants to use technical expertise for a clear public mission.

Over the next 24 months, you will help build the data infrastructure behind investigations into manipulation, disinformation and threats to democratic stability and resilience. Your work will directly support investigators that help protect democracy and the rights of vulnerable groups.

This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, knows how to build reliable systems, and wants their work to matter beyond a commercial environment.

What you will do:

  • Build and maintain robust end to end ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data;
  • Set up scalable data workflows using European and or open source technologies;
  • Connect and manage data extraction from various APIs and other relevant sources;
  • Help expand and maintain our data lakehouse;
  • Transform raw data into reliable, usable and well structured tables for analysis and data products;
  • Contribute to the technical foundation of a project with direct societal relevance!

You…

  • are an experienced data engineer or developer;
  • understand data engineering best practices and can work independently;
  • have strong skills in Python and or Node.js, SQL, Git, or similar tooling;
  • combine technical quality with a practical mindset;
  • communicate clearly and can work well in a small mission driven team.

We…

  • are a non-profit research platform based in Amsterdam;
  • investigate the actors, networks and mechanisms that undermine democracy and push active polarisation;
  • combine multidisciplinary research, OSINT and field based inquiry.

Practical information:

  • Uurtarief: €40-60 ex btw
  • Project duration: 24 months
  • 32 hours per week
  • Location: on site in Amsterdam
  • Direct hiring only, no agencies or intermediaries
